NEOM, the Saudi Arabian developer of a massive futuristic city, has introduced a specialist training programme to equip a new generation of students. Students in the NEOM specialist training will be guided to the most relevant and sought-after majors that align with the future job market.
The 600 male and female students in the programme, which is being introduced through its corporate social responsibility division, include high school students from the Neom and Tabuk areas as well as first-year students at the University of Tabuk.
According to a statement, the eight-week programme is designed to help young people pursue their college education with confidence and get them ready for influential careers after graduation.
It is being held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the National Program for Community Development (Tanmiah), non-governmental organisations, and the KEYSS Project (Knowledge Exchange for Youth Supporting Society).
According to a company spokesman, “with the assistance of 50 teachers and advisors, the students will be guided to the most pertinent and sought-after majors that align with the future job market and encouraged to explore their personal strengths through interactive meetings that foster self-learning.”
He said that participants will receive a manual on tactical decision-making on the academic, professional, and personal levels as part of the programme.
He asserts that the core of the social responsibility initiatives, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Human Capability Development Program, is the empowerment of the young generation through education.
Since its establishment, Neom has started a number of educational initiatives, including a scholarship programme that has so far benefited more than 379 people, English language classes, and career-building opportunities, he continued.
