Jack Harlow got the girl! After being spotted together at the Variety Hitmakers brunch in Los Angeles in early December, Dua Lipa and Jack Harlow dating rumors took over the Internet. Both were also seen grabbing lunch together privately.
After being a single lady for a year, Dua Lipa has finally decided to let her guard down and date again. The singer was previously dating Anwar Hadid, but the two went separate ways after dating for two years, from 2019 until the end of 2021.
“Dua and Anwar are currently taking a break from their relationship and are spending time apart,” a source told People at the time. “They’re figuring things out right now.”
The Grammy Award winner was rumored to date comedian and former the Daily Show host, Trevor Noah as the two were seen outside of a restaurant exchanging what looked like a kiss in New York City. Both never confirmed nor denied the rumors. Photos were published in the Daily Mail.
Page Six reports that the two met in person at Variety‘s Hitmakers Brunch in Los Angeles on December 3 and have been in “constant communication” ever since. The outlet described her as “quite smitten” by the 24-year-old rapper.
Harlow is shooting his shot, a source told the outlet: “He was very interested in her, and was going to strongly pursue [the romance],” the source said.
A source close to Harlow added, “He is going to do his best, as he has always been a fan of her.”
Multiple sources told the magazine that he “flew to New York City to meet up with her following her Z100 Jingle Ball appearance on Friday.” He has already gone a little bit of distance for Lipa. The publication was informed by numerous witnesses that they spotted Lipa and Harlow having lunch together on Saturday in the Meatpacking District. To avoid being observed, they entered through a private entrance and left separately, the outlet reported.
For her Service95 newsletter, she talked about her experience going out on a date by herself and she received backlash. “Oh, Dua went out to dinner alone, blah blah, I do this all the time,” a Twitter user wrote.
Lipa replied; “And I think that’s amazing if you do it all the time. You must be so confident. But it was a big step for me. I was nervous—like, what am I gonna do? I don’t want to be on my phone.” Generally, with her solo dates, “I want to know I can just be there for myself, you know?”
In May, Harlow talked about FaceTime conversations with Lipa to ask her permission to name his song after her. “I wanted to get her blessing, so I FaceTimed her and played it for her,” he told The Breakfast Club’s hosts. “‘Cause I didn’t want her to be blindsided by that or feel like creeped out or anything. If she had said, ‘Yo, I hate it. I don’t want it to come out,’ it wouldn’t have come out. But she was like, ‘Oh, I mean it’s not my song. I suppose it’s okay.’ She was just kinda thrown off, and she just kinda let it go.”
On October 7, 2022, Lipa’s podcast episode with Charli XCX was broadcast. They talked about how her previous relationships had affected her and how much she was loving being single. “For me, this is the first year I’ve not been in a relationship for a very long time,” she said. “It’s been really great to just be alone and only think about myself and kind of be quite selfish, which I’ve never really had the opportunity to do. But when you find someone that really softens you and calms you down. I think it is the Leo thing—it makes a big difference.”
Lipa opened up about why she’s always been a romantic in an interview with Elle UK in 2018. “I’m such a firm believer in love. I blame my parents for that because they have a really good relationship and I think they’ve set my standards high,” she said at the time. “Life is too not short not to say ‘I love you.’ “As much as I tell myself not to rush into things or be careful to say I love you too fast without really knowing if there’s any substance in the relationship, I think it’s really important to go with your gut.”
