American singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile performed on the Saturday Night Live (SNL) show on Dec 10th. Hosted by Steve Martin and Short, Carlile performed “You and Me On The Rock,” a song from “In These Silent Days,” with Lucius, and “The Story,” the album’s lead hit.
Martin Short hosted the late-night sketch show for the fourth time, which airs on NBC. Steve Martin hosted the late-night show for the 16th time, and he also served as a cast member for one season in the mid-80s.
American lesbian singer-songwriter Brandi opened the show by performing “The Story,” a song from her second album with the same title. She performed with a band during which she displayed her guitar skills by playing catchy riffs.
Although the song was released in 2007, it has remained a fan favorite for the past 15 years. In a 2015 interview with Acoustic Guitar, Carlile and her bandmates Tim and Phil Hanseroth discussed the song’s writing process. The trio praised each other’s writing prowess.
“Because it is purely focused on lyrics and has so much to do with what is happening in my life”, Carlile added, “With me, it’s a true crap shoot. I frequently center my lyrics on my emotions and my surroundings. I enjoy speaking unique words that truly imply what I am saying. So each of us three contributes something unique to the band. Phil brings eccentricity, Tim brings utter stability and productivity, and I bring communication”.
Carlile’s SNL debut was in October 2021. She performed “Broken Horses” and “Right on Time” on the show hosted by Jason Sudeikis.
On November 30, The artist shared the news of her appearance as a musical guest on ‘SNL’.
“The greatest @nbcsnl of the year!” the Americana songwriter and performer shared on Twitter. “I would fly to New York City just to witness this from the audience. But instead, I get to sing my songs on my favorite show.”
