LAHORE: An Additional District and Sessions Judge Malik Mushtaq on Monday extended the bail of the lawyer Hassaan Khan Niazi, nephew of prime minister Imran Khan, in a criminal case registered by a widow of former governor of Balochistan Nawab Akbar Bugti.

The judge directed the investigation officer to submit the police report till September 6.

The complainant alleged that the perpetrator lawyer along with his four accomplices attacked her in court when she appeared to seek bail in a case lodged against her with the crime circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The widow alleged that Hassaan Niazi and his accomplices abused her in the presence of her lawyer and also tried to murder her by strangulation.

Hassaan Niazi in his defence said that a false case was lodged against him. He also pleaded that it was a fabricated case as the complaint had no evidence of the alleged incident.

The FIA earlier had registered a case against Ms Nargis on a complaint of her ex-daughter-in-law Wishah Abubakar for sharing her objectionable pictures and videos on social media. She also accused her ex-husband Shahzawar Bugti of subjecting her to physical torture and extending life threats to her.

In this case against Ms Bugti, Hassaan is a counsel of Wishah Akbubakar.
