Balochistan ‘looking at the sky’ amid monsoon rains havoc, flashfloods

Monsoon rains have wreaked havoc on the already poor infrastructure of Balochistan as several areas were severely affected by the flash floods. The Pakistan Army jawans are carrying out our rescue and relief operation in Lasbela, Uthal, and Lakhra.

ISPR said that as many as 2,000 stranded people in four villages of Uthal have been rescued.

Authorities have managed to open Quetta-Karachi N25 Highway for traffic which was disconnected for almost a week due to torrential rains.

Pakistan Army media wing said that the communication system in many parts of the province especially Lasbela has been restored.

Bridges have also been disconnected at Wadh Bela, Uthal, Wnadar, and Gaddani areas putting passengers and commuters at great difficulty.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has postponed the local government (LG) elections in Lasbela district and halted polling material due to stoppage of transportation and damage to roads and bridges

The election process would be resumed from where it was stopped, when the conditions improve, the notification added.
