The Punjab government formed a joint working group for promotion of tourism in Punjab. Minister for ICI&SDD Mian Aslam Iqbal chaired the Public-Private Dialogue organized by the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT).
JWG comprises tour operators, hotel industry representatives, and government officials.
Aslam Iqbal believed that provincial tourism to touch new heights and bring investment as this sector has immense potential and all relevant authorities to make coherent strategies to take province sightseeing to global standards.
He directed officials to make divisional headquarters more active as far as tourism promotion is concerned.

The representatives of the hotel industry urged authorities to revise taxes, and government policy and solve industry issues.
It was highlighted that there were more domestic tourists than international tourists.
