Saudi Arabia’s King Salman wishes Muslims worldwide a blessed Eid al-Adha

RIYADH: 60,000 worshippers performed Hajj ritual under complete health and security arrangements. After spending around 12 hours on the plains of Arafat on Monday for the most important part of Hajj, pilgrims went to Muzdalifah in preparation for the final stages of pilgrimage.

The pilgrims began moving to the open but rocky plains of Muzdalifah, where they pray Maghrib and Isha. The caravan of buses, each carrying 20 pilgrims, arrived in Muzdalifah. On each bus there is a guide whose task it is to help pilgrims with all information they need and ensure they are socially distanced. The buses were accompanied by security patrols, and there was a time interval between buses for a smooth traffic flow.

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz wished Muslims around the world a blessed Eid al-Adha, the Saudi Press Agency reports. “I ask God to restore this Eid to the Islamic nation with security and stability,” King Salman said on the first day of Eid al-Adha. King Salman says he prays that God accepts the Hajj pilgrimage of all those who performed the ritual this year and wishes they return to their families safe and happy, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

King Salman also praised the efforts made by Muslim countries around the world to support the Hajj measures the Kingdom took this year to combat the coronavirus during the pilgrimage.

Saudi Arabia held a limited Hajj ritual for the second consecutive year in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 among pilgrims. Only 60,000 people living in the Kingdom were allowed to partake in the ritual, given they were vaccinated, between the ages of 18 an 65, had no chronic illnesses, and did not perform Hajj before.

Prior to the virus outbreak, more than 2.5 million Muslims would travel to Mecca from around the world to participate in the pilgrimage, which is seen as a rite for every able-bodied Muslim.

Earlier, the caravans of Hujjaj reached mount Arafat Square from Mina after Fajr prayers, Zul-Hijjah where Khatib of Masjid-ul-Haram Imam Sheikh Bandar Balela delivered the Hajj sermon. 

The imam urged Muslim Ummah to obey the laws, to obey the Wilayah Amr (rulers) in all matters except disobedience to Allah.

Imam Sheikh Bandar Balela said in his sermon, “These words demand that rights be protected, that the causes of tribulations be stopped, that it be haraam to harm others, that aiding and abetting terrorism and that spreading disorder on earth should be banned.”

Addressing the main topic of the sermon “Ehsan”, Imam Sheikh Bandar Balela clarified in the light of Qur’an and Sunnah that Ehsan is included in worship and affairs, members of Islam and members of faith and religious affairs and human ethics.

The Nimrah Mosque is a historic landmark of Musharraf Arafat.  This mosque was built at the place where the Holy Prophet (sws) delivered the Farewell Sermon. The Nimrah Mosque was built during the reign of the first Abbasi Caliph.  This is an event of about the second century AH. The Nimr Mosque is located west of Arafat.  Part of the mosque falls in the Arna Valley.  It is one of the valleys of Makkah. In this valley, the Messenger of Allah forbade waqf and said that I have waqf here.  This is Arafa.  The rest is the place of waqf except the abdomen.  The Arna Valley is close to Arafat but not part of it.

The cornerstone of Nimrah Mosque

The Nimrah Mosque was probably founded in the middle of the second century AH.  All the subsequent Muslim sultans and rulers paid special attention to its decoration and expansion. An architect named Al-Jawad Al-Isfahani took part in its construction in 559 AH. In the time of Mamlik, there was a mosque in two very attractive buildings in the Holy Hijaz.  

It was rebuilt in 1272 AH during the Ottoman rule, but the largest expansion took place during the current Al Saud regime.  If it is expanded by the Saudi government, it is considered to be the second largest mosque in Makkah after the Masjid al-Haram.

Saudi Arabia’s king and crown prince exchange Eid Al-Adha greetings with Muslim leaders

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman received a phone call on Monday from Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, where he congratulated him on the advent of Eid Al-Adha.

King Salman also extended greetings to Sheikh Mohammed on the Muslim holiday. The king also received similar calls from Bahrain’s King Hamad, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

King Salman also received a call from Tunisian President Kais Saied, where they also exchanged eid greetings, and the president thanked him for the Kingdom’s support for Tunisia and providing urgent assistance to help combat the coronavirus outbreak in the country. Meanwhile, King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also exchanged congratulatory cables with leaders of Muslim countries on the occasion. 

Saudi Info ministry launched 24/7 Urdu broadcast on Saudi radio

JEDDAH: The Saudi Ministry of Information has launched a 24-hour broadcast on Saudi radio for Urdu listeners, which will continue on a regular basis until mid-September featuring programs on Islam and the Qur’an and Hadith, as well as historical and global issues. 

Chairman of Saudi Broadcasting Authority Faisal Al-Yafi said in a meeting with the delegation of Pakistan Journalists Forum that international broadcasting was started from Makkah in September 1950 in which Urdu programs used to run for 15 minutes and then increased to 2 hours and now Shortly afterwards, in Saudi Vision 2030, with the multifaceted intentions of defending Saudi Arabia’s interests and reforming anti-propaganda, the program was aired 24 hours a day with experimental broadcasts, which will be made permanent later, Faisal Al-Yafi said.

He noted that the restructuring of the media has made Saudi Arabia a leader in the Islamic world on global development, aid, Islamic services, the Saudi perspective and Saudi Arabia’s performance on the global economy as an effective member of the G20.  Highlighting the impact of the visit, he appreciated the media services of Pakistani journalists in promoting Pak-Saudi relations and Saudi Vision 2030, Hajj, Umrah, Economy, and Prosperity and wished for all possible cooperation, said the head of the delegation. 

PJF Amir Mohammad Khan said that Pakistan loves Saudi Arabia  He also assured all possible cooperation from the forum. On this occasion, the chairman of the forum Maroof Hussain, secretary general Jamil Rathore, former president of the public council Shahid  Naeem, Asad Akram, Mohammad Adeel, Mohammad Amanatullah Khan, Yahya Ashfaq, Mohammad Mustafa Khan were also present.
