The 21st Lux Style Awards award show delivered great excitement and enthusiasm for fans as LSA held a star-studded event to celebrate the success of Pakistan’s entertainment industry and to recognize Pakistan’s fashion, television, and cinema talents.
The award ceremony took place on Thursday night in Lahore and people could not stop talking about it.
The award show had many great performances this year as well. The event began with a singing of the national anthem by Abdul Wahab Bugti and Shehzad Roy, followed by a tribute to famous Anjuman Shaheen by Humaima Malick.

The award ceremony took place in Lahore’s Expo Center on Nov 24. Fahad Mustafa hosted this year’s award show.

Controversy related to LSA’22
The nominations for this year’s awards sparked some controversy among fans. Fans were outraged at seeing Feroze khan’s name in the nominations. The actor was recently in some hot waters because of his involvement in the domestic abuse case against his wife, Aliza Sultan. With almost the whole industry in the support of Aliza Sultan, Feroze Khan was the subject of much criticism. So, his involvement in the annual award show was disappointing to celebrities and fans alike. Many celebrities and singers have called out LUX to take the matters into their hands.
Another problem with the nominations was that out of a total of 82 nominations, not one of them included a women musician. Meesha Shafi, the most well-known Pakistani singer was quick to point out the unfair nominations in the 21st Lux Style Award.
“I’m just as surprised and confused as any reasonable person should be at the erasure of women from the nominations,” Shafi said. She added how disappointed and saddened she was at a situation that can clearly be described as “Discrimination”
Even with all these controversies roaming around prior to the show, the industry still attended the ceremony in full spirit and some even took home awards.

Lux eventually responded to the criticism. According to the statement, the platform receives submissions from actors and channels “as part of an open call for entries and consideration in the awards.” LSA further stated that “All shortlisted nominations, for the Viewers’ Choice Category for the LSA 2022 are a result of exclusive viewer voting without any intervention by the Awards.”
