Internationally acclaimed travelogue writer, novelist, and TV personality Mustansar Hussain Tarar has received “GCU’s Lifetime Achievement Award” at the 19th Convocation of Government College Lahore (GCU).
Tarrar was among four distinguished individuals who received GCU Lifetime Achievement Award. The other three were Dr. Pervaz Hassan, S.M. Zafar, and Syed Babar Ali (Asghar Abbas received on his behalf).
Governor Punjab Muhammad Sarwar and GCU Vice Chancellor Asghar Zaidi presented the award to the celebrated personality, having millions of fans in and outside the country.
A Facebook group ‘Mustansar Hussain Tarar’s readers world’, has over 20,000 members. Fans from all walks of life congratulated him in the group and GCU VC posted his pictures for receiving GCU Lifetime Achievement Award.
Tarar is a Ravian himself and penned over 50 books including novels and a collection of short stories.
His first book that broke all records of its time was a travelogue of Europe published in 1971 by the title of Nikley Teri Talaash Main (1970), dedicated to his youngest brother, Mobashir Hussain Tarar.
Tarar is a multifaced personality and equally popular among Pakistani viewers for his live morning show Subah Bakhair (1988) (Good Morning) on PTV.
He is a receipt of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) – Awarded in Literature by the President of Pakistan in 2017, Pride of Performance Award – Awarded in Literature in 1992, and Anjuman Farogh-i-Urdu (Qatar) Award.
