RIYADH: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah confirmed that arrangements have been fully completed and Hajj smart cards technology have been launched to serve the pilgrims to perform the Hajj 2021 (1442 AH).
The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr Abdel Fattah Mashat said Hajj Smart Card has been introduced to provide high quality services to pilgrim containing their personal, medical and residential information linked with application to smart devices via NFC technology.
He said that the HSC will also contribute to assist lost pilgrims, controlling entry to various camps and facilities, and reducing irregular pilgrimages.
Deputy Minister of Hajj stressed that the ministry also launched a package of qualitative services, including the “Smart Hajj Platform” project and the “Service Monitoring” initiative, to raise the level of housing services with the aim of providing additional spaces for pilgrims and organizing frequency transport routes, and the “Tafweej” program dedicated to crowd management through an electronic system.
Two drones intercepted
The leadership of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced the interception and destruction of two drones launched by the Houthi militia (Saturday) towards Saudi city Khamis Mushait.
According to Arab media, the coalition forces said that the air force had intercepted and destroyed 7 booby-trapped drones launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards the southern region.
They added that the Houthis’ deliberate and systematic hostile attempts constitute war crimes, indicating that they take operational measures to protect civilians from hostile attacks.
