First lady Bushra bibi inaugurates Sufism research centre in Lahore

First Lady Bushra Bibi has inaugurated the Sheikh Abul Hassan Shazli Sufism, Science and Technology Research Hub in Lahore.

The centre has a library that offers free memberships, and access to 150 million e-theses and 78 international e-journals.It has an auditorium, reading room and internet facility too.

The e-library has been declared as a state-of-the-art research center for religious, scientific, and social sciences.

There are special educational and research facilities for individuals and homeless children.

The library, whose membership is free, has more than 3, 000 physical and 13 crore e-books, and here research will be done on Islam, Sufism and science and technology.

The visitors could also read 78 international e-journals at the library, which has been declared the most modern research center of religious, scientific, and social fields of knowledge.

There are special educational and research facilities at the library for the differently abled and orphan children.

GCU VC said, “We are proud that GC University hosted “SHEIKH ABDUL HASAN ASH-SHADHILI Research Centre on Sufism, Science & Technology”, at our New Campus, located at Kala Shah Kaku.

The ASH-SHADHILI Centre will be a centre on study of philosophical doctrines of great Islamic scholars. Centre of excellence with linkages to the universities, emphasis on inter-faith dialogue and spirituality, sponsoring MPhil/PhD/post-doc on Divinity, Sufism & Spirituality.
