Careem CEO lashes human rights champions countries for being silent on Gaza atrocities

Careem co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Careem Mudassir Sheikha severely criticized those countries claimed to be the champions of the human rights globally are now silent on the loss of the innocent Palestine people.

In a tweet, “For countries that have championed human rights globally, I am speechless that US and major powers in Europe are not doing whatever it takes to stop this tragic loss of innocent lives in Palestine.”

Careem is a vehicle-for-hire company that is a subsidiary of American company Uber. It is based in Dubai, with operations running in over 100 cities, covering 15 countries including the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia regions. The company was valued at over $2 billion as of 2018.

Due to the impact of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Careem announced on its blog it was laying off 31% of its workforce, amounting to 536 employees.
