UMT: SMCS International Media and Communication Conference 2022 on Urdu Journalism concludes

An International Media and Communication Conference 2022 (IMCC22) on Urdu Journalism by the University of Management and Technology (UMT) School of Media and Communication Studies (SMCS) concluded on Friday on a high note.

Dean School of Media and Communication Studies, UMT, Prof. Dr. Anjum Zia presented the IMCC22 report in the concluding session held on Friday. The conference was arranged on the completion of two centuries of Urdu Journalism. The theme of the first international conference on Urdu journalism was ‘a journey of opportunities and challenges.”

Saroosh Bajwa hosted the IMCC-22, wherein, all the dignitaries applauded the School of Media and Communication Studies for its positive contribution to academia-industry linkages via IMCC.  

Prof Dr. Bushra Hameed Ur Rehman, Chairperson Department of Journalism, School of Communication Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Dr. Aslam Dogar, former DG DGPR, Ajmal Jami addressed the closing session.

Day 2 Highlights

A number of parallel sessions were arranged on Day 2 of the International Media and Communication Conference 2022, UMT.

Plenary Session 1 on Molana Zafar Ali Khan, in International Media and Communication Conference 2022, moderated by Azhar Iqbal. Plenary Session 2 on “Adab Aur Sahafat”, in International Media and Communication Conference 2022, moderated by Ahmad Sohail. Also, there was an interesting debate on Urdu literature by Amna Mufti.

Also, there was a cultural night at the conclusion of the second day of the conference.

Conference Opening Day

Punjab Governor Baligh Ur Rehman inaugurated the international conference on Urdu Journalism on November 23rd.

International Media And Communication Conference 2022

On day 1, a number of plenary sessions were held in which noted speakers addressed the gathering. There was a session on Urdu Journalism & Digital Media that was moderated by Muhammad Awais while another session was on 200 years of Urdu Journalism. Day 1 – Plenary Session on “New Trends in Urdu Journalism”.
