LAHORE: Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Culture, Arts and related Communications Shahzad Nawaz has visited Punjab University and called on PU VC (Vice Chancellor) Prof Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar at his office.
Centre for Global and Strategic Studies Vice President Punjab Region Brig (r) Mansoor Saeed Sheikh, Executive Director CGSS Khalid Taimur Akram, Chairman PU Department of History and Pakistan Studies Prof Dr Mahboob Hussain, Regional Integration Center Director Dr Fouzia Hadi Ali and University College of Arts & Design Principal Prof Dr Sumera Jawad were also present.

During the meeting, Prof Niaz Ahmad Akhtar briefed the participants about the PU’s Department of Arts & Culture and Department of History and Pakistan Studies.
He said that both the departments have several contributions in promoting the initiatives related to the art and culture of the country.
PU library organizes introductory talk on Books
LAHORE: (Monday, December 20, 2021): Punjab University Library Book Club has conducted introductory talks on two books. The books of the month were “Allah Mian Ka Karkhana by Mohsin Khan” and “Islamic Science and the Making of European Renaissance” by George Saliba”. Chief Librarian Dr Muhammad Haroon Usmani presented the talk on the Urdu language book “Allah Main Ka Karkhana”. He beautifully narrated the story of the book and its literary notions. The introduction to the English book was presented by Punjab University Institute of Administrative Sciences Assistant Professor Dr Aamir Saeed. He conversed about the historical role of Islamic science in the transformation of Europe and presented pieces of evidence from the book. Dr Muhammad Haroon Usmani also thanked the speakers and participants for their lively contribution to the program.

PU to organize Christmas cake cutting ceremony today
LAHORE: (Monday, December 20, 2021): Punjab University will organize Christmas cake cutting ceremony on Tuesday (today) at 12 noon near Faisal Auditorium’s lawn. Provincial Minister of Punjab for Industries, Commerce and Investment Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal will be the chief guest while PU VC Prof Niaz Ahmad Akhter, Pro VC Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem Mazhar and others will also participate in the event.
