Justice Shujaat Ali Khan of Lahore High Court on Wednesday while hearing a petition seeking implementation of a Supreme Court’s order regarding regularization of work-charge employees summoned the chairman of the Sheikh Zayed Hospital (SZH).
Judge directed the chairman to appear on Thursday (today).
Judge also directed a provincial law officer to ensure the presence of the Old Anarkali station house officer in the court.
Judge further directed the counsel of the SZH to ask the chairman to bring his sleeping suit and other belongings with him.
The petitioner counsel submitted that the Supreme Court on June 2, 2018 had in a human rights case had ordered the SZH authorities to regularize the services of the employees working on daily wages within two months. He submitted that the hospital’s chairman and other authorities were present before the apex court when the order was passed.
He submitted that the respondents had not complied with the SC order apparently on the pretext that the orders issued in human rights cases were not binding on them. He pointed out that it had already been settled that there was no difference between the Supreme Court’s orders in petitions and human rights cases.
He requested to ensure implementation of the apex court order of regularization of work-charge employees.
The SZH counsel could not satisfy the court on the non-implementation of the SC order.
Judge summoned the chairman SZH.
