CM Usman Buzdar’s Minister Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed in trouble

An additional district and sessions judge ordered police to record statement of a petitioner and register a land grabbing case against Punjab local government minister Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed and his accomplices if a cognizable offence is made out.

Judge observed, `Prima facie a cognizable offence is made out from the allegations of the petitioner against the proposed accused.`

Judge directing the SHO Mustafa Town police station to record the statement of the petitioner in his verbatim and register a FIR if a cognizable offence is made out and proceed further strictly in accordance with the law.

Judge observes that the SHO despite having been approached by the petitioner did not discharge his statutory duties stipulated under section 154 of Criminal Procedure Code.

Judge further ordered the SHO to arrest the accused only when he himself gets satisfied regarding the correctness of the allegations leveled by the petitioner against the accused.

Judge issued these direction on a petition moved by Abid Ansar Khan of Allama Iqbal Town. Petitioner counsel alleged that Abid was raising construction on a one-kanal plot in Mustafa Town when PTI’s provincial minister Rasheed along with other eight armed suspects allegedly tried to grab the property.

He further alleged that due to timely intervention of the notables of the area the suspects fled from the scene by extending life threats. He said that the police was not inclined to lodge criminal case against the minister.

He also submitted that a case was also pending before the Lahore High Court regarding the disputed property but even the perpetrators tried to illegally get possession of the land.
