LHC summons PCB officials to explain traffic congestion over National T20 matches

Justice Shahid Karim Lahore High Court on Thursday summoned officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the city traffic police for Friday (today) to explain the blockade of roads due to national T20 cup cricket matches at Gaddafi Stadium from October 6 to 13.

The judge observed that the cricket matches could not take place in such a deplorable manner in the city at the expense of curtailing the rights of people and the free movement of the citizens could not be blocked due to cricket matches.

Petitioner counsel said that citizens had been adversely affected and traffic blockages will further exacerbate pollution levels especially air pollution. He requested that the authorities could not be allowed to increase the miseries of the people.
