On Friday the officials of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA)  produced the accused before the court and sought their physical remand for investigation and to conduct a photogrammetric test.

The magistrate allowed this request and granted three-day physical remand of the suspects to the investigator.

The police had registered the FIR against 400 unidentified persons for assaulting the complainant, molesting and stripping her clothes.

Sections 354-A (assault or use of criminal force against woman and stripping her of her clothes), 382 (theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint in order to commit the theft), 147 (rioting) and 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Pakistan Penal Code have been included in the FIR.

The CIA had arrested the suspects from Sheikhupura and Jaranwala. The suspects along with other accomplices had come to Lahore on the eve of the Independence Day. However, the key suspect, who jumped onto the moving rickshaw and kissed the girl, is still at large.
