Punjab University Library and Iqbal Academy Pakistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the scanning of rare books of Allama Iqbal’s collection with side notes on every book in his own handwriting at Punjab University Library.
The purpose of this agreement is to preserve the rare material in digital form and make it available for research purposes by both Punjab University Library and Iqbal Academy, Pakistan. Director Iqbal Academy Prof Dr. Baseera Ambreen and Chief Librarian Dr. Muhammad Haroon Usmani, Chief Librarian signed the memorandum in the presence of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor in his office.

Punjab University has awarded five Ph.D. degrees to the scholars in which Arshi Shahid D/o Shahid Hayat in the subject of Economics after approval of her thesis entitled ‘Inflation Dynamics, Globalization and Monetary policy Nexus: An Empirical Cross-Country Evidence’, Tahira Yasmin D/o Muhammad Gulzar in the subject of Islamic Studies after approval of her thesis entitled ‘Quranic Stories & Eligibility Criteria for Positions’, Naz Fatima D/o Abdul Hameed Gill in the subject of Zoology after approval of her thesis entitled ‘Dysregulation of Lipid Metabolism due to Hepatotoxic Potential of Tacrolimus in Rattus Norvegicus’.
Sidra Saleem D/o Hakim Muhammad Saleem in the subject of Mathematics after approval of her thesis entitled ‘Numerical Solution of Time-Dependent Partial Differential Equations Via Haar Wavelet’ and Aqsa D/o Tariq Hussain in the subject of Islamic Studies after approval of her thesis entitled ‘Jurisprudential Directives of Marine Life: An Investigative and Critical Research (Seafood as a Perspective of Permissible and Forbidden Use in the Form of Diet and Medicine)’.
