Sultan of Oman arrives in NEOM, Saudi Arabia

RIYADH: Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, arrived here at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a state visit at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

He was received by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman upon his arrival at Neom Bay Airport, and an official reception ceremony was held for him, where the national anthems of the two countries were played, and then reviewed the guard of honor, while the Saudi hawks gave an air show in which they painted the colors of the Omani flag, and Saudi artillery gave 21-gun salute in honor of the state guest.

It is pertinent to note that Neom is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. It is planned to incorporate smart city technologies and function as a tourist destination. The site is north of the Red Sea, east of Egypt across the Strait of Tiran, and south of Israel and Jordan.

Later, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques met in NEOM, the Sultan of Oman, after the Crown Prince received him upon his arrival at NEOM Bay Airport, where an official reception ceremony was held for him.

King Salman bin Abdulaziz held an official session of talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, during which they reviewed brotherly relations and discussed prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries.

Faisal bin FarhanThe Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, praised the depth of the historical relations between the Kingdom and the Sultanate of Oman, and the advanced levels of bilateral coordination they have reached in various areas of common interest.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs said that the visit of the Sultan of Oman comes out of keenness to develop the relationship between the two countries and take it to broader horizons, in a way that serves their interests, and it also reflects the depth of ties and brotherly ties between the leaderships of the two countries and what brings them together of political will and a common vision towards the importance of strengthening security. and stability in the region.

He stressed that the visit is of great importance as it is the first official visit of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, indicating that the historical relations between the two countries were and still are based on mutual respect and constructive cooperation in addressing Arab and Islamic issues, and dealing with regional and international issues in order to achieve international peace and security.
