Punjab University, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences inks MoU


An MoU has been signed between Remote Sensing, GIS and Climatic Research Lab (RSGCRL), National Center of GIS and Space Applications, Punjab University and Department of Wildlife and Ecology (DoWE), University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS).

The focal persons of the MoU were Dr. Asim Daud Rana from RSGCRL and Syed Ghulam Mohi Ud Din Hashmi from DoWE. The two institutes will collaborate in developing joint research proposals and data sharing, organization of conferences, seminars and workshops, providing mentorship and learning opportunities to the students and young professionals and their involvement through internships and research theses in the fields of Remote Sensing & Geospatial Applications for Ecological Studies, and Climate Change.

The signature target of the MoU is to develop institutional linkages that will serve as a continuous and consistent support in the execution of all other activities. Dr. Zia ul Haq, Director/Principal Investigator RSGCRL and Dr. Arshad Javid, Chairman DoWE signed the MoU and endorsed by Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar (S.I.), Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab and Professor Dr. Nasim Ahmad (S.I.), Vice Chancellor, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore.

PU CQS to organize seminar today 

Punjab University Centre for Quran and Sunnah (CQS) will organize a national seminar on Islamic Law of Inheritance on Tuesday (today) at 10am at Al Raazi Hall. Director Shariyah Academy, International Islamic University, Islamabad Prof Dr Abdul Haye Abro will be the keynote speaker while Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad Akhter, Pro VC Prof Dr Saleem Mazhar and others will attend the ceremony.


PU to organize event with Thalassemia’s Children

Punjab University Department of Social Work in collaboration with Sundas Foundation will organize an event with children suffering from Thalassemia on Tuesday at 6pm at PU club (executive club). Provincial Minister for Human Rights & Minorities Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine, PU VC Prof Niaz Ahmad Akther and others will participate in the event.
