Pakistan FM takes bold stance in UNSC speech: ‘Representatives of Islamic world are here, send forces to Gaza’

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi addressing the United Nations emergency session said that United Nations Security Council (UNSC) need to deploy International Protection Force (IPF) and if UNSC does not agree, then a civilian coalition may send to monitor and supervise humanitarian aid in Gaza.

The Pakistan Foreign Minister said, “The voice of Palestine people cannot be silent and WE the representatives of Islamic world are here to speak with them and for them.”

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, “So far 50 thousand Palestine have been displaced in Gaza and there is a limited access to water, health services and electricity and fuel for the power plants. The only light is of explosions in Gaza…where Israel is hitting the highrise buildings to silence the media.”

He urged, ‘The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) failed to ensure peace, and even failed to demand peace and those preventing the UNSC from doing so have the heavy responsibility on them.”

Qureshi commented, “The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) holds responsibility at this critical juncture and our priority is to first halt what is going on in Israel.”

The Secretary General should launch assistance to the Palestine people as we need to send medical teams for occupied territories and access being provided from Egypt to Gaza and Israel must open the border with Gaza.

Pakistan also urged to protect Israel-Arab citizens by fascist Israel gangs and the UNSC to condemn the forced evictions of the Palestine people from occupied territories including from Sheikh alShaykh Jarah. Qureshi said that there should be no impunity about Israel strikes against humanity and urged the human rights council and ICJ to become active to hold accountable Israel.

He urged the international forum to dismantle apartheid regime Israel and implement UNSC resolutions on Palestine issue which demands Israel to withdraw its armed forced from territories it occupied in 1967.

“Time to take bold steps for independence for Palestine for Palestine with Al-Auds at its capital,” Qureshi added.

“Palestine-Israel issue is also the principal root cause of extremism and acts of violence and a just solution is imperative. The onus of restoring peace is on Israel and it must implement resolutions of the UNSC.

“This UNSC session must send a clear message to Palestine people and to Israel as this assembly should restore its credibility too.

FM Qureshi concluded his speech with a verse of a Habib Jalib resistance poet: O land of Palestine, I, to, am yours!
