People living in the northern mountains of Pakistan are hardy and strong to grow grains and fruits in the harsh cold weather.
The valleys have apricot, cherries and apple trees which provide juicy and nutritional foods. The sites of the mountains are carved out in terrace to grow wheat and corn.
The main livelihood of the mountain people is keeping herds of goats and sheep and other animals. They are used for transport and to get meat, milk and leather products.
There is a huge tourism potential in northern areas.
The government should provide safety measures, upgrade roads and provide modern transport facilities to uptick local and international tourism in Gilgit Baltistan, Hunza, Azad Jammu Kashmir, Chitral, Swat, Skardu and other northern areas.
