Islamabad DC imposes two-month ban on throwing trash on Margalla Hills after British envoy tweet

In a quick decision, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has made laws that penalized the litter-throwing on Margallah Hills.

Islamabad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hamza Shafqaat shared the development in a tweet. He said , “Since April 6, trespassing, bonfires, BBQs, deforestation and littering have been criminalized in the Margalla Hills.”

The Islamabad admin warned the Islzooities and tourists, “You could be arrested and fined up to six months. in Islamabad as the ICT police and the administration have been given powers.”

The move comes after the British High Commissioner Christian Turner tweeted, “Another #FridayMorningWalk, another two bags of litter. Safaai nisf imaan hai.”

The British envoy also tagged @dcislamabad @hamzashafqaat and @CleanGreenPK. The social media abuzz with the foreign envoy picking the bottles and waste from hills.
