Pakistan Supreme Court orders federal govt to fix oxygen cylinder price

After the devastating reports from India where people die due to shortage of medical oxygen cylinders, Pakistan has also paced up the efforts to ensure the availability of the oxygen cylinders to meet the demand.

In a latest, the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Wednesday ordered the federal government to fix the price of medical oxygen cylinders needed for COVId-19 patients.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed issued the directions on a plea by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government while hearing a suo motu case regarding steps taken to deal with the deadly coronavirus challenge.

In India, philanthropists and NGOs are coming forward along with the international aid to meet the growing medical oxygen demand. The space in the crematoriums has been filled as the number of death tolls jumped up to 4,000 in India.
