Pakistan military troops conduct joint flag march with Police

Pakistan Army troops conducted a joint flag march with Punjab Police in Lahore in collaboration with the Rangers. The purpose of the flag March was to ensure the implementation of Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance of law and order.

The flag march was supervised by SP Saddar Hafeez-ur-Rehman Bugti. The troops were called by the Prime Minister Imran Khan to stem the spread of a third wave of deadly coronavirus, so people of Pakistan could not see the horrors and devastating scenes of neighboring country India.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Dr Faisal Sultan warned that if the uptick trend of coronavirus cases continues, the federal government and National Command and Control Center (NCOC) will impose a complete lockdown in the coming four days.

Dr Faisal is confident that oxygen supplies are sufficient as the government had been in contact with multiple suppliers of medical oxygen importers. 

ISPR Important Press Conference!

Major-General Babar Iftikhar, director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), told the press at a news briefing that personnel of the Pakistan Army have been deployed in 16 cities that have the highest number of COVID-19 cases ratio. 

DG ISPR said that there was a whooping increase in the corona related deaths in the ongoing third wave of the pandemic. 

Currently, the hotspot cities are Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Lahore, Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta, Faisalabad and Muzaffarabad.

It may be mentioned here, Pakistan Armed forces central command had decided not to take the internal security allowance against the services being provided to combat the corona outbreak.

Major-General Babar Iftikhar maintained that a lieutenant-general would head the military operations in every district and a brigadier at the divisional level in coordination with the local administration.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) supremo Nawaz Sharif in a latest tweet criticized the incumbent government policies tweeted, “Sadly, Nuclear Pakistan is facing humiliation on every front. Failure to procure Covid vaccines in time to protect the lives of the people is criminal negligence. When will the rulers have mercy on the people? When will their sufferings end?”
